Workday HCM Technical Consultant

Job Description & Details

This is a heavy-duty, long-term contractor role focused on deep Workday technical integrations and reporting in Philadelphia. You will be knee-deep in enterprise-level architecture, dealing with everything from custom EIBs to complex PECI configurations for finance, HR, and payroll stakeholders.

What You'll Actually Be Doing

Expect to spend your days designing, building, and troubleshooting custom Workday integrations while collaborating directly with cross-functional business units like finance, legal, and HR. You'll be bridging the gap between raw data requirements and actual dashboard delivery, ensuring vendor systems talk cleanly to Workday via REST APIs and web services. It's a fast-paced environment where you will constantly balance new feature rollouts with rigorous testing and documentation.

The Core Tech Stack

To survive here, you need absolute fluency in Workday Integrations, EIB, CCW, and PECI, alongside solid experience dealing with web services and REST APIs. The team isn't looking for someone who has just clicked around the UI; they need an engineer who can architect robust integrations and handle complex data transformations without breaking production payroll.

Interview Expectations

Expect the hiring managers to probe deeply into your integration architecture experience, likely asking you to walk through a scenario where a complex PECI or CCW integration failed during a critical payroll cycle and how you diagnosed the root cause. They want to see that you can troubleshoot under pressure and communicate technical constraints clearly to non-technical stakeholders in HR and finance.

Application Advice

Your resume needs to heavily front-load specific keywords like Workday Integration, EIB, CCW, PECI, and web services right at the top to clear the automated ATS. Don't just list these skills—tie them directly to measurable enterprise outcomes, such as the scale of the employee populations your integrations managed or the complexity of the vendor systems you successfully connected.
