Job Description & Details
This is a heavy-hitting hands-on architecture and development role focused entirely on scaling enterprise conversational systems using Google's cloud ecosystem. If you are tired of writing basic webhook scripts and want to architect mission-critical voice and chat bots that handle massive production volume, this 6-to-12-month contract in Charlotte is worth a close look. You will own the technical direction and execution from day one, so expect to hit the ground running.
What You'll Actually Be Doing
You will spend your days leading the end-to-end design and implementation of complex conversational flows, intents, entities, routes, and fulfillment logic using Dialogflow CX. Beyond writing code, you will define architecture standards and reusable frameworks that entire development teams will rely on. A massive part of this gig involves optimizing customer journeys, driving up containment rates, and troubleshooting tricky self-service experiences across multiple enterprise business domains. You are the subject matter expert here, meaning you will guide everything from initial discovery and design to production support.
The Core Tech Stack
Your bread and butter for this role must be Google Contact Center AI (CCAI) and Dialogflow CX, paired with a deep understanding of GECX Playbooks and Google AI services. The team needs someone who doesn't just know the syntax, but deeply understands conversational AI platform design and how to architect scalable voicebot and chatbot solutions. You need to be comfortable building robust Dialogue Management frameworks from scratch and wiring up complex fulfillment logic that integrates cleanly with backend systems without latency issues.
Interview Expectations
Expect the hiring manager to push past basic definitions and ask you to whiteboard a complex state management problem in Dialogflow CX, specifically how you handle context loss and fallback states during a deep multi-turn conversation. They want to see how you structure pages, forms, and routes cleanly without creating a maintenance nightmare. You should also be ready to explain a time you optimized a low containment rate on a production bot, detailing how you analyzed user utterances and adjusted your intent mapping and slot-filling strategies.
Application Advice
Make sure your resume screams Dialogflow CX and Google CCAI right at the top, rather than burying your conversational AI experience underneath general software engineering tasks. Explicitly mention terms like GECX Playbooks, dialogue management frameworks, fulfillment logic, and intent design patterns to ensure you breeze past the ATS filters. Highlight any metrics you have improved in past roles, such as containment rate increases or reduced average handle times, as those concrete numbers will immediately catch the recruiter's eye.
