Job Description & Details
This is a hands-on Senior Dynamics Developer role operating on a hybrid model out of Virginia, focusing heavily on Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement and the wider Power Platform ecosystem. You will be bridging the gap between business units and IT, meaning you actually need to talk to stakeholders, gather real requirements, and build scalable solutions rather than just coding in a silo.
What You'll Actually Be Doing
Expect to spend your days knee-deep in D365 customization, configuration, and troubleshooting complex technical issues. You'll be designing web components using .NET, C#, and SQL while spinning up Power Apps and Power Automate workflows. A significant part of the grind involves fit-gap analysis, handling data integrations via SSIS/ADF, and ensuring your team follows strict ALM and DevOps best practices for deployments.
The Core Tech Stack
You absolutely need deep, battle-tested experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Customer Service and the Power Platform, including Dataverse and custom plugins. C#, .NET, and JavaScript form the backbone of the custom development work here, so if you haven't written robust plugins or web resources, you'll struggle. Familiarity with Azure and Power Platform DevOps (like Power Pipelines) will seriously set you apart from other applicants.
Interview Expectations
Expect them to grill you on advanced plugin architecture, specifically regarding execution contexts, handling infinite loops, and optimizing plugin performance in high-transaction environments. The hiring manager is likely going to present a messy legacy integration scenario and ask how you would untangle it using a mix of SSIS, Azure Data Factory, and custom D365 APIs to see how you troubleshoot under pressure.
Application Advice
Your resume needs to heavily feature exact keyword matches like 'Dynamics 365 Customer Service', 'Power Platform', 'Dataverse', and '.NET/C# custom development' to get past the initial ATS screen. Don't just list your technical skills; write out specific bullet points highlighting how you handled fit-gap analyses, managed solution deployments, and communicated directly with business stakeholders.
