Service Desk Lead

Yakshna Solutions, Inc.

Job Description & Details

This is a hands-on leadership role managing enterprise service desk and desk-side support operations for government contracts in Huntsville. You will not just be managing tickets; you will be overseeing the entire lifecycle of incident management, escalation pathways, and endpoint troubleshooting under strict DoD frameworks. If you enjoy untangling operational bottlenecks and keeping large technical teams aligned, this is a solid career move.

What You'll Actually Be Doing

Your day-to-day will involve juggling ticket intake, triage, assignment, and Tier 1 through Tier 3 user support while keeping a close eye on performance metrics. You will coordinate technical support personnel, bridge the gap between end-users and complex systems administration issues, and ensure ITSM tracking is ruthlessly accurate. Expect to handle escalations that require quick thinking and deep familiarity with defense IT support structures.

The Core Tech Stack

You need a strong foundation in IT Service Management (ITSM) frameworks and enterprise-level endpoint troubleshooting. Because this role integrates historical help desk functions into systems administration categories, fluency in Active Directory, Windows endpoint administration, and enterprise ticketing systems is non-negotiable. The hiring team needs someone who can talk infrastructure with sysadmins and troubleshooting with end-users.

Interview Expectations

Expect the interviewers to hit you with a scenario-based question about handling a major P1 outage while your Tier 1 and Tier 2 queues are completely overwhelmed. They are secretly testing your prioritization matrix, your ability to stay calm under pressure, and how you protect your team from burnout during critical failures. You should also be ready to discuss how you track and improve service desk metrics like First Contact Resolution (FCR) and Mean Time to Resolution (MTTR) without sacrificing customer satisfaction.

Application Advice

Make sure your resume immediately highlights your active Secret clearance right at the top, alongside your years of experience aligning with the ITES-3S degree substitutions. Weave in exact keywords from the description like 'ITSM tracking,' 'escalation management,' 'endpoint troubleshooting,' and 'performance metrics' directly into your work history bullets to ensure you clear the automated filters before a human ever looks at your profile.
