Sr. Solutions Architect - Cloud Infrastructure

IDEXCEL, INC

Job Description & Details

This is a heavy-hitting enterprise cloud architecture gig where you will spend less time slinging code and a lot more time steering multi-hundred-million-dollar infrastructure strategies. You will be operating largely through influence rather than direct authority, meaning your technical credibility needs to be airtight to get cross-functional engineering teams to buy into your target-state designs, compliance frameworks, and IaC automation standards.

What You'll Actually Be Doing

You will spend your days bridging the gap between high-level business priorities and low-level cloud mechanics, balancing strict regulatory frameworks like PCI DSS, NIST, and ISO/IEC 27001 without slowing down developer velocity. Expect to define cloud networking, IAM, cybersecurity integrations, and infrastructure-as-code patterns while working alongside a Cloud Platforms Architect. You'll also be jumping into design walkthroughs and building reference implementations to mentor engineers, ensuring they can actually execute on the roadmaps you draft.

The Core Tech Stack

Your bread and butter here will be deep, multi-cloud infrastructure architecture spanning Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), cloud networking, and robust Identity and Access Management. You need to breathe Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and continuous integration/continuous delivery pipelines, as automating delivery is non-negotiable for this role. On top of that, fluency in compliance standards like NIST and PCI DSS is critical because security controls are woven into every single architecture decision you make.

Interview Expectations

The hiring panel is going to test how you handle cross-functional friction and massive scale. They will likely ask you to describe a time you had to enforce a strict security or compliance standard on a rebellious engineering team without executive backup, looking for your ability to use technical credibility and consensus-building rather than a top-down mandate. Expect a scenario-based system design question around multi-cloud infrastructure resilience where you'll need to walk them through your approach to technical debt, cost optimization, and automated guardrails.

Application Advice

Your resume needs to immediately prove you have operated at a massive enterprise scale—think $500M+ organizations—and that you aren't just an individual contributor hiding in a text editor. Make sure your summary explicitly calls out your years in an Architecture Practice, your experience driving adoption of Infrastructure as Code, and your familiarity with heavy compliance frameworks like NIST or PCI DSS so you easily clear the automated ATS filters.
