SAP Interfaces Developer SAP ABAP/ Fiori / SAPUI5

Not Disclosed

Job Description & Details

This is a hands-on technical role for someone who knows how to make SAP talk to the outside world while keeping the user experience clean. You will be knee-deep in S/4HANA integrations, custom ABAP, and modern Fiori apps, bridging the gap between legacy backend systems and modern cloud architectures.

What You'll Actually Be Doing

You will spend your days building, debugging, and optimizing complex interfaces and custom UI components. Expect to write OData services, wrangle IDocs and RFCs, and troubleshoot performance bottlenecks using ST12 or SQL Trace when production integrations start failing. You'll also work closely with functional consultants to turn vague business requirements into rock-solid technical specs, ensuring your SAPUI5 front-end components bind smoothly to the backend without lagging.

The Core Tech Stack

You need deep, battle-tested experience in SAP ABAP, Object-Oriented ABAP (OO-ABAP), and CDS Views, combined with solid frontend skills in SAPUI5, JavaScript, and HTML5. The team relies heavily on OData, REST/SOAP APIs, and Fiori Launchpad configuration, so knowing your way around the SAP Gateway is non-negotiable. Experience with SAP Integration Suite or RAP/CAP models will give you an immediate edge here.

Interview Expectations

Expect the hiring manager to throw a complex integration failure scenario at you and ask how you would trace and resolve it using tools like SAT or ST12, testing whether you actually know how to tune performance under pressure. They will also likely drill down into your OO-ABAP and OData service creation process, looking for clean architecture patterns rather than just functional code.

Application Advice

To get past the ATS, make sure your resume explicitly lists the core technical keywords found in the job description, such as OO-ABAP, CDS Views, SAPUI5, OData, and IDocs. Instead of just listing titles, write bullet points that emphasize your specific experience tuning interface performance and deploying custom Fiori apps in production environments.
