Job Description & Details
This is a hands-in-the-mud contracting gig for a Senior SAP QM PP Consultant based out of Dallas, TX. If you've spent the last decade wrestling with quality management and production planning modules in complex manufacturing environments, this role will let you put those battle scars to good use.
What You'll Actually Be Doing
You'll be bridging the gap between business stakeholders and technical teams, translating raw manufacturing requirements into concrete SAP configurations. Expect to spend your days gathering requirements, writing functional specs, and guiding ABAP devs on custom solutions. You will own the design and support for quality management workflows, especially making sure the shop floor syncs up properly with quality inspection lots and production orders.
The Core Tech Stack
You need absolute mastery over SAP QM and PP modules, with non-negotiable, deep-dive experience in inspection type origins 03 and 04. Knowing how QM integrates smoothly with MM and PP is critical since you'll be handling procurement end inspections and quality notifications. If you've touched S/4HANA or FIORI apps in aerospace, defense, or automotive manufacturing, you'll feel right at home here.
Interview Expectations
Expect the hiring manager to grill you on specific edge cases involving inspection type origins 03 and 04. They want to see if you can troubleshoot a broken QM-PP integration on the fly without breaking production. They're also secretly testing whether you can talk shop with stubborn plant managers one minute and explain technical workarounds to an ABAP developer the next.
Application Advice
Make sure your resume doesn't just list module names; explicitly highlight the number of full-lifecycle SAP implementations you've run, specifically calling out QM and PP integration. Toss in keywords like inspection type origin 03, inspection type origin 04, QM-MM integration, and quality notification workflows so you easily glide past the ATS parser.
