Job Description & Details
This is a heavy-duty Senior Dynamics 365 Developer role embedded within a state government environment, requiring someone who can not only sling code but also navigate public sector requirements. If you have deep battle scars from enterprise D365 implementations and understand the nuances of state-level governance, this gig offers a chance to stabilize and modernize critical public-facing systems.
What You'll Actually Be Doing
You'll spend your days acting as the bridge between bureaucratic business units and technical execution. Expect to jump straight into requirements gathering, fit-gap analyses, and hands-on customization of Dynamics 365 Customer Service modules. You will build and troubleshoot web components using .NET, C#, and JavaScript, while also designing workflows, custom plugins, and Dataverse tables that don't fall apart under heavy administrative use.
The Core Tech Stack
You need absolute mastery over Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement and the Power Platform ecosystem, specifically PowerApps, Power Automate, Power Pages, and Dataverse. On the backend, heavy fluency in .NET, C#, SQL, and JavaScript is non-negotiable since you'll be writing custom plugins and web components. Bonus points if you've wrangled Azure Data Factory (ADF) and SSIS packages for complex state data migrations, and if you know your way around Power Platform DevOps pipelines.
Interview Expectations
Expect the hiring team to test your architectural judgment by asking how you would handle a massive data migration using ADF and SSIS into a heavily customized Dataverse environment without violating API limits. They are secretly trying to figure out if you'll cave under pressure when a state stakeholder demands a messy, unsupportable customization, or if you actually have the backbone to enforce platform best practices and governance.
Application Advice
Do not just drop generic Microsoft buzzwords onto your resume and hope for the best. To get past the automated screeners, explicitly detail your years of experience with D365 Customer Service, specific plugin development in C#, and any prior state government or public sector IT contracts. Highlight your leadership chops and your familiarity with Power Platform ALM, because they want someone who can mentor and lead from day one.
