Job Description & Details
This is a heavy-duty, long-term enterprise gig building and maintaining high-visibility web applications for the State of New York. You're going to be knee-deep in the Microsoft ecosystem, working with legacy and modern frameworks while handling sensitive healthcare data. If you enjoy building scalable n-tier architectures and dealing with strict compliance rules, this 30-month contract offers stability and serious enterprise grit.
What You'll Actually Be Doing
You'll spend your days designing, coding, and maintaining complex n-tier web applications using C#, ASP.NET MVC, and .NET Core. A lot of your time will go into writing solid Oracle PL/SQL stored procedures, optimizing database queries, and integrating front-end UI components using HTML, JavaScript, and Bootstrap. Because this touches state healthcare data, you'll also be heavily focused on application security, ensuring everything strictly adheres to HIPAA PHI standards and WCAG 2.0 accessibility guidelines.
The Core Tech Stack
You need absolute fluency in C#, .NET Core, and ASP.NET MVC, paired with heavy Oracle (11g or higher) database experience where you aren't just writing basic queries, but architecting packages, triggers, and complex cursors. On the front end, you'll need a solid grasp of JavaScript, jQuery, and HTML reports or Crystal Reports. Familiarity with modern CI/CD pipelines and version control using Azure DevOps, TFS, or GitLab is non-negotiable for pushing your code through the state's deployment pipeline.
Interview Expectations
Expect the hiring team to grill you on your Oracle query optimization strategies and how you handle complex indexing for massive datasets. They want to hear about real-world scenarios where you diagnosed a performance bottleneck in a multi-tiered .NET application. Another major focus will be security and compliance; be prepared to walk them through how you ensure HIPAA PHI data is locked down securely within the application architecture without sacrificing performance.
Application Advice
Make sure your resume screams enterprise .NET and database optimization. Don't just list technologies; explicitly call out your years of experience with C#, .NET Core, and Oracle PL/SQL matching the 84-month requirements highlighted in the posting. Ensure you weave in keywords like HIPAA, WCAG 2.0 accessibility, and Azure DevOps or TFS so your resume easily clears the automated ATS filters before a human ever looks at it.
