Job Description & Details
This is a hands-on, trench-level support role where you will be the backbone of critical financial close cycles for enterprise clients. If you enjoy untangling complex consolidation errors and keeping enterprise reporting pipelines flowing smoothly without getting bogged down in greenfield feature development, this 6 to 12-month contract is right up your alley.
What You'll Actually Be Doing
You will spend your days keeping the wheels turning on vital financial close processes, handling month-end, quarter-end, and year-end crunches. Your core duties involve investigating production incidents, fixing data load failures, resolving reconciliation issues, and addressing consolidation errors. You will also dive deep into root cause analysis for recurring problems, collaborate with the L3 engineering team to push out permanent fixes, and handle everything from user provisioning and security workflows to monitoring ERP integrations.
The Core Tech Stack
You absolutely must know your way around Oracle EPM ARCS, FCCS, and Narrative Reporting inside and out. The team relies on your mastery of these platforms to diagnose application performance bottlenecks and troubleshoot data integration pipelines between Oracle ERP and external financial systems. Without deep, practical experience in these specific modules, you will struggle to keep pace with the high-stakes demands of the financial close cycle.
Interview Expectations
Expect the hiring managers to test your mettle with real-world failure scenarios, such as asking you to walk them through a complex data load failure or an unbalancing consolidation issue during a quarter-end close. They are secretly looking for methodical troubleshooting logic, a calm demeanor under pressure, and your ability to articulate a clear root cause analysis rather than just throwing band-aids at the symptom.
Application Advice
To get past the ATS and catch the recruiter's eye, make sure your resume explicitly highlights your hands-on experience with Oracle EPM ARCS, FCCS, and Narrative Reporting, specifically emphasizing your involvement in financial close cycles and integration troubleshooting. Weave keywords like root cause analysis, reconciliation issues, and production support naturally into your project descriptions to show you understand the operational reality of this role.
