Senior Project Manager

Job Description & Details

This is a heavy-hitting contract role driving the implementation of Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS) modules and Enterprise Data Warehouse components for state government operations. If you enjoy untangling complex multi-vendor ecosystems and wrangling massive healthcare data conversions, this gig will test your administrative and technical resilience.

What You'll Actually Be Doing

Expect to spend your days knee-deep in master scheduling, cross-vendor coordination, and keeping state stakeholders aligned. You will oversee critical-path dependencies, track project milestones, and ensure data aggregation and analytics initiatives stay on track from planning all the way through go-live and certification. It is less about writing code and more about removing roadblocks, managing budgets, and relentlessly mitigating risks before they derail the rollout.

The Core Tech Stack

You need a deep mastery of MMIS frameworks, Enterprise Data Warehouses (EDW), and legacy-to-modern data conversion pipelines. The client relies heavily on your ability to orchestrate multi-vendor environments, translate complex technical requirements for legislative stakeholders, and implement rigorous project governance processes. Knowing how state health agencies operate is non-negotiable here.

Interview Expectations

Expect the hiring team to grill you on a time you managed conflicting priorities across multiple external vendors without slipping on deadlines. They will want to hear a specific war story about how you identified a critical-path risk early, stepped in with corrective actions, and communicated that risk clearly to executive leadership. Make sure you can articulate your exact strategy for handling scope creep in massive government contracts.

Application Advice

Your resume needs to scream public sector and healthcare tech competency right at the top. Ditch the generic PM buzzwords and explicitly feature phrases like MMIS implementation, vendor coordination, legacy data conversion, and Enterprise Data Warehouse. If you have direct experience working with state Medicaid agencies or Idaho state government specifically, put that front and center to immediately clear the ATS filter.
