Job Description & Details
This is a heavy-hitting Senior SDET role for someone who genuinely loves building test frameworks from scratch rather than just maintaining old scripts. You will be dropping into an established enterprise environment in Alpharetta, GA requiring a massive 12-month commitment to elevate their automated testing infrastructure. If you enjoy wrestling with complex Java architectures and driving CI/CD integration, this project will keep you busy.
What You'll Actually Be Doing
Your day-to-day will revolve around designing, developing, and scaling robust enterprise automation frameworks using Core Java. You won't just be executing regression tests; you will actively build reusable automation libraries, test runners, and utilities that the rest of the engineering team will rely on. Expect to spend a significant amount of time automating REST APIs, bridging UI tests with Selenium and Appium, and hooking everything directly into Jenkins pipelines so that quality checks run seamlessly with every deployment.
The Core Tech Stack
To survive and thrive here, your bread and butter must be Core Java and J2EE combined with deep expertise in Selenium, TestNG, and Cucumber for BDD workflows. They aren't looking for a tool-clicker; they need someone who thoroughly understands BDD, Hybrid, and Data-Driven architecture. On top of Java, you need working proficiency in Python, JavaScript, and Shell scripting, plus hands-on API validation experience using Postman or SOAP UI.
Interview Expectations
You will likely be grilled on framework design patterns and how you handle synchronization issues and stale element references in large Selenium test suites. The hiring manager is secretly looking to see if you actually architected your past frameworks from the ground up or if you just added test cases to an existing template, so be ready to whiteboard your folder structure and explain your design decisions clearly.
Application Advice
When submitting your resume, ditch the generic summary and put your framework architecture experience right at the top. Make sure to explicitly mention keywords like Core Java, Selenium, Cucumber, Jenkins CI/CD, and REST API automation so you easily clear their automated ATS filters before a human ever looks at your profile.
