UI/UX Designer / UX Researcher

3Core Systems, Inc

Job Description & Details

This is a heavy-duty UX Researcher role embedded in the Shop Team, focusing entirely on translating human-computer interaction principles into actual product direction. You won't just be pushing pixels here; your primary job is to run user testing, synthesize stakeholder sentiment, and build out foundational UX artifacts like journey maps and user flows that downstream teams will religiously follow.

What You'll Actually Be Doing

You'll spend your days acting as the bridge between raw user behavior and the engineering team's execution. A typical week involves facilitating research sessions, breaking down complex enterprise workflows into clear UI concepts, and communicating prototype requirements to designers. Stakeholder management is massive here since you'll be coordinating across an 11-person cross-functional team, balancing shifting product roadmaps, and making sure everyone actually listens to what the user data is telling them.

The Core Tech Stack

While tools change, your core toolkit needs to feature industry-standard UI layout, spec, and prototyping software, paired with deep expertise in qualitative and quantitative research methodologies. The team isn't just looking for someone who can run a survey; they need someone who can synthesize disparate user feedback into airtight design strategy and articulate complex data visually through compelling journey maps and storyboards.

Interview Expectations

Expect the interview panel to drill heavily into your ability to handle ambiguous product requirements and push back on stakeholders using hard data. They will likely ask you to walk through a past project where user research directly forced a pivot in the product roadmap, so have a specific case study ready. The hiring manager is secretly evaluating your empathy—how you listen to users without bias—balanced against your ability to make authoritative, independent design decisions.

Application Advice

Your resume and portfolio need to immediately scream "strategy and synthesis" rather than just UI execution. Make sure to explicitly highlight keywords from the job description like journey maps, user flows, research methodologies, and stakeholder management. Don't just show the final high-fidelity screens in your portfolio; aggressively document your research process, how you handled changing requirements, and the tangible business impact your recommendations had on past products.
