Job Description & Details
This is a heavy-hitting architecture gig designing a Microsoft 365 Deal Workspace tailored specifically for investment banking. You'll be stepping in as the onsite design authority to build secure, scalable collaboration environments that strictly adhere to financial compliance rules while setting the stage for future AI integrations like Copilot. Expect to spend your time bridging the gap between high-level business stakeholders and deep technical execution in a heavily regulated environment.
What You'll Actually Be Doing
You'll be leading the end-to-end architecture, governance, and pilot implementation of a complex deal workspace, which means defining everything from SharePoint hub structures down to CRM-triggered workspace provisioning. Your day-to-day involves running workshops with compliance, security, and investment banking leaders to hammer out taxonomy, metadata, and role-based views. You won't just be drawing diagrams; you'll guide the actual buildout, ensuring that NAS parity, Microsoft Purview guardrails, and Entra ID permissions are locked down right from day one.
The Core Tech Stack
Your bread and butter here is going to be SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams, and the broader Microsoft 365 ecosystem, with a massive emphasis on Microsoft Purview for compliance and Entra ID for advanced identity management and access control. You need deep fluency in Microsoft Graph, Power Platform, and information architecture principles because you'll be building automated, metadata-driven document management systems that handle strict financial data barriers without slowing down deal teams.
Interview Expectations
When you get in front of the hiring manager, be ready for deep-dive scenarios on how you handle information barriers and sensitivity labels in Purview when integrating external Salesforce triggers into SharePoint provisioning. They want to see how you balance strict security compliance with a frictionless user experience for bankers closing deals. Another favorite you'll likely hit is explaining how you would architect a site collection model to prevent permission sprawl while scaling to thousands of deal rooms, so make sure your real-world enterprise taxonomy strategies are dialed in.
Application Advice
To make your resume stick for this role, you need to strip out generic bullet points and lean heavily into enterprise-scale Microsoft 365 governance, Purview compliance setups, and financial services experience if you have it. Make sure terms like 'SharePoint Online architecture', 'Entra ID', 'Microsoft Purview', and 'information barriers' are explicitly featured in your recent project descriptions. The hiring team is looking for a seasoned consultant who can talk strategy to executives and technical execution to engineers, so highlight your workshop facilitation and client-facing leadership right at the top.
