Job Description & Details

This is a solid, hands-on 12-month contract for a Senior iOS Developer in Charlotte, NC, requiring local presence on-site. You'll be stepping into a team focused on scaling out native applications, meaning you will spend your days writing clean code rather than drowning in endless meetings.

What You'll Actually Be Doing

You will be building, shipping, and maintaining production-ready iOS applications using modern frameworks like SwiftUI alongside established codebases relying on UIKit. Day-to-day work involves collaborating closely with product, design, and backend teams to integrate RESTful APIs, manage complex asynchronous states, and squash those stubborn UI bugs. You'll also take ownership of app stability, diving deep into performance profiling, memory leaks, and pushing updates smoothly through TestFlight and the App Store.

The Core Tech Stack

You need absolute fluency in Swift and Xcode, with a strong grasp of both SwiftUI and UIKit lifecycles. Experience with architecture patterns like MVVM is crucial because the team expects clean, testable code. You should also be comfortable handling local persistence with Core Data, managing async operations using Swift concurrency (async/await), and integrating REST APIs with proper error handling and secure storage mechanisms.

Interview Expectations

Expect the hiring team to grill you on Swift concurrency and memory management. They might ask you to explain how you handle race conditions using async/await or how you debug a tricky retain cycle in a complex view hierarchy, so be ready to talk through real production war stories. The interviewer is secretly trying to figure out if you can architect a feature independently without requiring constant hand-holding from senior staff.

Application Advice

Make sure your resume highlights your hands-on production experience with SwiftUI, MVVM, and Swift concurrency rather than just listing outdated Objective-C projects. Explicitly include keywords like Core Data, RESTful APIs, unit testing, and TestFlight deployments to make sure you clear the automated ATS filters and grab the attention of the engineering manager.
