Job Description & Details
This is a hands-on hybrid contract role for someone who truly understands the anatomy of Microsoft Dynamics 365, acting as both a developer and a bridge to business users. You will be building, maintaining, and configuring CRM platforms while fighting the urge to write custom code when out-of-the-box features will do the job better.
What You'll Actually Be Doing
Expect to spend your days knee-deep in the D365 ecosystem, translating messy business requirements from stakeholders into clean configurations and robust custom code. You will design relational data models, build plugins, configure business process flows, and handle integrations with SharePoint and SQL Server. One minute you are talking shop with clinical or business units to map out legacy data migrations, and the next you are knee-deep in XrmToolBox writing C# plugins or debugging SSRS reports.
The Core Tech Stack
You need absolute fluency in Microsoft Dynamics 365 (both CRM and Field Operations modules), C#.NET for custom plugins and web services, and a solid grasp of JavaScript, HTML, and SQL Server. Experience with XrmToolBox, Ribbon Workbench, and Power Apps Portals is non-negotiable because this team relies on them heavily for customizations and deployments across environments.
Interview Expectations
Expect the technical interviewers to hand you a vague business requirement and ask how you would solve it using purely out-of-the-box features before resorting to custom code; they want to see if you respect platform best practices or if you are prone to over-engineering. They will also likely drill down into your experience with C# plugin execution contexts, asynchronous processing limits, or how you troubleshoot performance bottlenecks in large D365 implementations.
Application Advice
Make sure your resume doesn't just list technologies, but explicitly highlights your dual nature as a technical developer and a functional analyst who can talk to stakeholders. Front-load exact matches like XrmToolBox, C#.NET, SSRS, JavaScript, and Power Apps Portals so you easily clear the initial ATS filters, and explicitly mention your experience deploying solutions across QA, UAT, and Production instances.
