Job Description & Details
This is a hands-on Senior Archer GRC Developer role focused on administering, customizing, and supporting enterprise-level RSA Archer deployments. If you know your way around workflows, data feeds, and advanced platform configurations, this contract offers a solid runway to make an immediate impact on risk and compliance operations.
What You'll Actually Be Doing
Expect to spend your days knee-deep in Archer solution packages, custom application development, and troubleshooting complex workflow or performance bottlenecks. You'll be building out custom on-demand applications, managing data feeds via Web APIs, and ensuring smooth platform upgrades and migrations. On top of the technical builds, you'll work closely with stakeholders to translate GRC requirements—spanning risk, audit, and third-party risk management—into rock-solid technical documentation like HLDs and LLDs.
The Core Tech Stack
Your primary ecosystem will be the Archer GRC Platform, paired heavily with SQL Server for database querying and data management. You'll need a strong grasp of IIS administration, Windows-based environments, and web technologies like JavaScript, XML, and HTML for advanced customizations. A deep understanding of GRC domains and security frameworks is non-negotiable since you'll be configuring the controls that the rest of the enterprise relies on.
Interview Expectations
Expect the hiring team to test your real-world troubleshooting chops by asking how you would handle a failed data feed causing cascading calculation errors across multiple custom applications. They want to hear about your systematic approach to isolating the issue, auditing the XML/API payload, and resolving it without breaking downstream dependencies. Another common line of questioning will revolve around complex cross-application reference fields and access controls, specifically how you structure record permissions to maintain strict data segregation in a multi-tenant or multi-business-unit Archer deployment.
Application Advice
To get past the automated screening, ensure your resume explicitly highlights your hands-on experience with Archer solution packages, advanced workflows, and API-based integrations. Don't just list 'Archer Admin'—spell out the specific modules you've configured, such as Policy Management, Risk Management, or Vendor Risk Management. Weave in your background with SQL Server and IIS administration so the recruiter instantly recognizes you can handle the infrastructure side of the platform just as well as the UI configuration.
