Vendor Management Specialist

SES Systems Engineering Services Corporation

Job Description & Details

This is a hands-on vendor management and data migration gig for someone who loves wrangling spreadsheets and turning them into actual enterprise workflows. You'll act as the operational glue for the Vendor Management Office, cleaning up legacy data and building PowerBI dashboards that stakeholders actually use.

What You'll Actually Be Doing

Your day-to-day will revolve around migrating messy data from legacy spreadsheets into structured vendor management platforms. You'll spend significant time doing heavy Excel work, validating records, and generating analytical reports that leadership will use to make actual business decisions. You're expected to be the reliable right-hand resource to the VM team, taking ownership of operational bottlenecks and proactively solving them without needing constant hand-holding.

The Core Tech Stack

You need advanced Excel and solid PowerBI skills to build the required analytical reporting frameworks from scratch. Experience with Vendor Management software is a must, and if you’ve spent time inside SAP Ariba, you'll have an immediate advantage. The technical challenge here isn't writing complex code, but rather maintaining absolute data integrity during large-scale data migrations.

Interview Expectations

Expect the hiring manager to test your data manipulation chops in Excel with scenario-based questions about handling inconsistent or corrupted datasets during a migration. They want to see how you structure data for reporting and how you ensure accuracy under tight deadlines. They are secretly looking for someone who takes initiative and doesn't wait to be told how to fix a broken process.

Application Advice

Skip the generic corporate summary and immediately highlight your hands-on experience with PowerBI dashboards, large-scale data migrations, and vendor management office operations. Make sure keywords like 'Vendor Management software', 'PowerBI', 'Data Migration', and 'Analytical Reporting' appear prominently in your experience section to clear the ATS filters, and emphasize instances where you acted as a proactive problem solver.
