Hardware Design Engineer

Job Description & Details

This is a hands-on hardware design gig where you will actually own the board-level development and system integration rather than just pushing papers around. If you like seeing your schematics turn into physical prototypes that get put on the bench for debugging, this role in Bartlesville hits the right spot.

What You'll Actually Be Doing

Expect to spend your days knee-deep in schematic capture, PCB layout, and bringing up new hardware revisions on the lab bench. You will be defining hardware architectures from scratch, writing test procedures, and working closely with the embedded software team to figure out why that SPI bus is dropping packets or why the power supply is acting up under load. It is a mix of independent design work and collaborative system-level integration.

The Core Tech Stack

You need solid chops in microprocessor circuit design, electro-mechanical interfacing, and industry-standard EDA tools for schematic and PCB layout. Because you will be troubleshooting complex electrical systems, a deep intuition for bench testing equipment like oscilloscopes and logic analyzers is non-negotiable. They also expect you to know your way around NPI processes, meaning you design with manufacturing and testability in mind from day one.

Interview Expectations

Be ready to walk through a recent PCB layout you owned and explain how you handled signal integrity or thermal challenges on the board. The hiring manager is going to want to hear about your debugging methodology when faced with an intermittent hardware fault during bring-up. They are secretly testing whether you can systematically isolate problems on the bench or if you just shotgun-replace components hoping something works.

Application Advice

Make sure your resume doesn't just list tools, but highlights actual boards you have taken from concept to production. Toss in exact keywords from the description like microprocessor circuit design, PCB development, and bench testing so you clear the initial ATS filter without an issue.
