Vendor Management Analyst

Systems Engineering Services

Job Description & Details

This is a hands-on Vendor Management Analyst role where you will act as the data backbone for procurement, cleaning up messy spreadsheets and building out automated reporting pipelines. If you like digging through enterprise systems to find discrepancies and making manual processes obsolete, this gig will keep you thoroughly engaged.

What You'll Actually Be Doing

You'll spend your days wrangling procurement data, building spend and forecasting dashboards, and hunting down discrepancies across SAP, SAP Ariba, and DBeaver. Half the battle is untangling historical data while the other half involves mentoring two junior apprentices on the team. You'll also meet with suppliers, track contractor headcounts, and aggressively automate manual reporting using Power Automate so the team stops wasting time on spreadsheets.

The Core Tech Stack

You need absolute fluency in Advanced Excel and Power BI because leadership lives and dies by these dashboards. SAP Ariba and DBeaver are mandatory for pulling the data, while Microsoft Power Automate is your secret weapon for cutting down manual tasks. If you haven't migrated spreadsheet workflows into structured enterprise applications before, you're going to struggle here.

Interview Expectations

The hiring manager will likely ask you to explain a time you found a massive discrepancy in financial data across disparate systems and how you tracked it down. They want to see your investigative mindset and check if you actually understand procurement data structures. They'll also test your automation philosophy by asking how you decide whether a manual process is worth automating via Power Automate.

Application Advice

Make sure your resume screams data migration, vendor management office (VMO) experience, and heavy dashboard creation. Don't just list Excel as a skill—highlight specific KPI reporting, spend analysis, and data reconciliation projects you've owned from scratch to get past the initial ATS screening.
