Job Description & Details
This is a heavy-duty reporting gig at Inspire Brands where you'll spend your days wrangling complex Oracle data and turning it into production-grade Power BI dashboards. If you enjoy deep-diving into legacy data models and building scalable enterprise analytics rather than just throwing together simple charts, this role will keep you challenged.
What You'll Actually Be Doing
Expect to spend your days extracting, modeling, and validating massive sets of Oracle data to build executive-ready Power BI reports and dashboards. You will bridge the gap between technical data structures and business stakeholders, translating vague KPI requests into robust data models, optimized DAX measures, and lightning-fast SQL queries. Troubleshooting performance bottlenecks and fixing data discrepancies between Oracle source systems and your BI outputs will be a regular part of your workflow.
The Core Tech Stack
You need absolute fluency in Microsoft Power BI, advanced DAX, and high-performance SQL to survive this role. Beyond the visualization layer, a deep, practical understanding of Oracle databases and enterprise data models is non-negotiable because you are expected to pull data straight from the source without breaking a sweat. Familiarity with Oracle Cloud, OTBI, or BI Publisher acts as a major force multiplier here.
Interview Expectations
Be ready to defend your data modeling choices when dealing with deeply normalized Oracle schemas. They will likely grill you on how you optimize DAX measures and semantic models when dealing with millions of rows of enterprise data without crashing report performance. The hiring manager is looking for someone who doesn't just know the tool syntax, but deeply understands query folding, context transition, and how to structure a star schema for maximum efficiency.
Application Advice
Make sure your resume leans heavily into your enterprise-scale Power BI and Oracle data migration or reporting projects. Do not just list tools; highlight concrete examples of how you optimized slow-running SQL queries or complex DAX logic. Ensure keywords like 'Oracle data models', 'DAX optimization', 'SQL tuning', and 'enterprise reporting' are front and center to clear the ATS and signal to the technical screeners that you've handled this exact scale before.
