Job Description & Details

This is a hands-on data engineering gig based in Southern California where you will keep the core analytics pipelines humming. You will be knee-deep in Snowflake and Talend, making sure the business actually has clean, reliable data to drive decisions without constant firefighting.

What You'll Actually Be Doing

You will spend your days managing and optimizing the entire data environment, which spans ETL pipelines, the data lake, and master data management. Expect to write complex SQL, build robust integrations using Talend Cloud and Openflow, and occasionally spin up Python scripts to automate the gaps. You will also collaborate closely with stakeholders to surface insights using Tableau or Power BI, while keeping an eye open for ways to gradually integrate AI capabilities into existing workflows.

The Core Tech Stack

You cannot fake your way through the Snowflake and Talend Cloud requirements here—they are the absolute backbone of this data architecture. Alongside those, you need rock-solid, expert-level SQL for heavy lifting and data modeling, plus working knowledge of Python and visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI to ensure end-to-end data delivery.

Interview Expectations

Expect the technical round to probe heavily into your Snowflake optimization strategies, such as how you handle clustering keys and cost management for heavy queries. The hiring manager is likely testing whether you can troubleshoot complex Talend ETL failures under pressure and design scalable data lakes that don't fall apart as ingestion volume scales.

Application Advice

Skip the generic resume summary and put Snowflake, Talend Cloud, and advanced SQL right at the top where the ATS and hiring manager can immediately see them. Make sure your project bullets clearly highlight your hands-on experience building end-to-end ETL pipelines and scaling cloud data warehouses rather than just listing tools.
