Job Description & Details
If you have spent years wrestling with Kronos and UKG integration endpoints, this gig lets you own the pipeline connecting enterprise heavyweights like UCPath and Maximo. It is a heavy data plumbing role focused on keeping complex payroll and workforce management systems talking to each other without dropping packets or leaking PII.
What You'll Actually Be Doing
Expect to spend your days designing, building, and troubleshooting robust interfaces between UKG Pro WFM and external UCLA systems using Boomi or the UKG Integration Hub. You will be knee-deep in payroll exports, labor levels, punches, and timecard data conversions while systematically retiring legacy WFC WIM interfaces. Much of your time will go toward ironing out edge cases in SFTP file automation, mapping complex schemas, and ensuring secure, compliant data handling.
The Core Tech Stack
You absolutely need hands-on experience with Boomi or the UKG Integration Hub paired with deep knowledge of UKG REST APIs and SFTP data exchange. Strong SQL skills against relational databases like SQL Server, Oracle, or PostgreSQL are non-negotiable because you will constantly be writing queries to validate data integrity. Proficiency in Groovy, Java, or Python is a must for handling complex payload transformations in JSON, XML, and CSV formats.
Interview Expectations
Expect the hiring team to hand you a scenario where a high-volume payroll interface is failing due to timeout issues or malformed XML payloads, and they will want to hear your exact troubleshooting methodology from the API endpoint down to the database log. They will also drill into your experience migrating legacy WIM interfaces to modern Pro WFM architectures, looking for someone who understands how to handle data mapping quirks without breaking downstream payroll systems.
Application Advice
Your resume needs to heavily feature your specific experience with Boomi and UKG Pro WFM integrations rather than generic software development buzzwords. Make sure to explicitly list your proficiency with Kronos data structures like pay codes, accruals, and punches, alongside any background you have integrating with enterprise systems like PeopleSoft or Workday to get past the initial ATS filters.
