Job Description & Details
This is a hands-on Full Stack Java Developer position requiring you to be onsite in New Jersey for 5 days a week, bridging modern backend services with a robust frontend. You'll be knee-deep in building scalable enterprise applications where performance and clean architecture actually matter. If you enjoy wearing multiple hats and owning features from the database all the way to the browser, this role gives you that end-to-end ownership.
What You'll Actually Be Doing
Your day-to-day will be a mix of spinning up custom RESTful APIs using Spring Boot and wiring them up to a modern Angular interface. You'll spend plenty of time collaborating with UX designers to translate designs into responsive UI components using Angular Material, while also hunting down performance bottlenecks in the backend. Expect to refactor legacy code, write bulletproof unit tests, and participate in rigorous code reviews to keep the overall codebase clean and maintainable.
The Core Tech Stack
Java 8/21 and Spring Boot form the backbone of this stack, so you need to be comfortable building microservices and custom APIs without hand-holding. On the frontend, Angular (specifically version 16+) paired with TypeScript, RxJS, and Angular Material is non-negotiable; you need to understand reactive programming paradigms deeply. Familiarity with SQL databases, Docker, and Kubernetes will also be crucial since deployment and containerization are part of the team's daily workflow.
Interview Expectations
Be ready for deep-dive technical questions regarding RxJS stream management and memory leaks in Angular single-page applications. The interviewer is secretly looking to see if you understand async data flow, unsubscribe strategies, and change detection mechanics. On the backend, expect scenario-based questions around Spring Boot bean lifecycles, transaction management, and how you handle database connection pooling under high load.
Application Advice
Make sure your resume doesn't just list Java and Angular as buzzwords, but explicitly highlights complex frontend state management using RxJS or NgRx alongside enterprise Spring Boot backend architectures. Quantify your impact by mentioning how you optimized API response times or reduced frontend bundle sizes, and sprinkle in keywords like RESTful APIs, Docker, and TypeScript to easily clear the automated ATS filters.
