Job Description & Details
This is a heavy-hitting platform engineering role where you will take a rough proof of concept for network refresh automation and turn it into a bulletproof production system. You need to be equally comfortable writing clean backend Python as you are provisioning infrastructure and setting up CI/CD pipelines from scratch. It is a foundational role that directly impacts how the enterprise handles its infrastructure automation.
What You'll Actually Be Doing
You will spend your days bridging the gap between raw software development and hardcore infrastructure automation. Expect to spend the first part of your tenure setting up clean environment separation, robust CI/CD pipelines, and secure container deployments using Docker and Kubernetes. After that, you'll be writing modular Python apps, integrating with enterprise APIs like ServiceNow or Infoblox, and building out the authentication, logging, and monitoring layers to ensure this platform doesn't fall over when pushed into production.
The Core Tech Stack
You absolutely must know modern Python inside and out, alongside a strong DevOps toolchain consisting of Terraform, Ansible, Docker, and Kubernetes. The company leans heavily on infrastructure as code, automated testing, and secure secrets management, so your background needs to prove you know how to build secure, observable systems from the ground up rather than just deploying them.
Interview Expectations
Expect the hiring team to grill you on how you handle state management and error recovery when an automated deployment script fails midway through a network refresh. They want to hear about your experience designing rollback mechanisms and ensuring zero data corruption. You will also likely face a deep dive into API gateway design and service-to-service authentication, where they will test your grasp of OAuth2/OIDC and secure secrets injection in a containerized environment.
Application Advice
To make it past the ATS, your resume needs to explicitly mirror the phrasing found in the job description regarding infrastructure as code and Python backend development. Don't just list technologies; highlight specific instances where you took a project from an early proof of concept to a fully scaled, production-grade environment with automated testing and strict CI/CD pipelines.
