AI Product Engineer Cisco Domain SME (CCIE/CCNP Certified)

Not Disclosed

Job Description & Details

If you are a battle-tested Cisco engineer who is tired of standard support escalations and wants to pivot into training next-generation AI models, this role bridges deep enterprise networking with modern machine learning. You will essentially act as the ultimate technical truth-teller, validating whether AI-generated outputs actually hold up in a real-world enterprise environment.

What You'll Actually Be Doing

Forget configuring switches or deploying firewalls all day. Your actual job is to act as a senior technical judge for AI-generated networking and security content. You will spend your time tearing apart AI outputs for Cisco routing, switching, wireless, or ISE, pointing out subtle edge-case flaws, and writing structured feedback to remediate the models. You will also lean on your scripting skills in Python or Bash to automate validation workflows and reproduce tricky customer scenarios that standard AI tends to hallucinate on.

The Core Tech Stack

An active CCIE certification (Enterprise Infrastructure, Wireless, or Security) is non-negotiable here, alongside proven scars from handling Tier 2 or Tier 3 Cisco TAC escalations. You need deep hands-on fluency in the Cisco portfolio—whether that is enterprise switching, wireless architectures, Firewalls, or ISE. On top of that, you must be comfortable writing scripts in Python, Bash, or TCL to test and validate technical scenarios, while keeping an open mind about working with AI assistants like Claude and Codex.

Interview Expectations

Expect the hiring team to test your deep architectural knowledge with brutal, real-world troubleshooting scenarios, such as diagnosing an elusive BGP routing leak or a complex ISE posture assessment failure under load. They aren't just looking for the correct configuration syntax; they want to see your methodical, Tier 3 TAC-grade problem-solving process broken down step-by-step. They also want to understand how you communicate technical nuance, as your ability to provide structured, actionable feedback will directly dictate how well the AI model learns.

Application Advice

Your resume needs to scream Cisco authority immediately. Make sure your CCIE or CCNP credentials are front and center, and explicitly detail your hands-on experience handling complex Tier 2/3 TAC escalations rather than just listing standard job duties. Highlight any whitepaper publications in networking forums, as that is an explicit must-have for this role, and weave in your scripting experience with Python or Bash to show you can automate your way out of complex testing bottlenecks.
