Project Manager Associate

Mindlance

Job Description & Details

This is a solid 6-month contract role sitting fully onsite in McLean, VA, helping drive digital, web, and workforce tech initiatives for an enterprise HR&CC team. You'll be the glue connecting creative design, corporate communications, and external clients while strictly adhering to PMO governance standards.

What You'll Actually Be Doing

You will spend your days wrangling cross-functional teams, managing complex timelines, and making sure creative and technical deliverables don't slip through the cracks. Expect to facilitate working sessions, sniff out project blockers before they stall momentum, and translate between technical devs and business stakeholders. You'll need to juggle competing priorities with a calm, collaborative demeanor while keeping documentation pristine and risk management front and center.

The Core Tech Stack

You'll live inside project management tools like Wrike, Asana, and Jira, so fluency in tracking tasks and building transparent schedules there is non-negotiable. Familiarity with both Agile and Waterfall (SDLC) methodologies is critical because you'll be adapting your governance style to fit fast-moving digital projects and structured enterprise rollouts alike.

Interview Expectations

The hiring manager is going to ask you to break down a past project with gnarly cross-functional dependencies and grill you on how you personally kept the milestones from sliding. They want to hear about your specific change management strategies when operationalizing a new process, so come ready with concrete examples of how you drove actual team adoption rather than just writing up a doc nobody read.

Application Advice

Make sure your resume explicitly highlights your hands-on experience with Wrike, Asana, or Jira, alongside terms like cross-functional leadership, risk management, and PMO governance. Weave those keywords naturally into your experience bullets to clear the ATS and show you understand the realities of enterprise project delivery.
