Sr. Project Manager

Job Description & Details

This is a high-stakes, high-visibility public sector tech gig where you'll be steering critical modernization efforts for the commonwealth. If you hate bureaucracy and rigid stakeholder management, run the other way—this role is all about heavy documentation, strict change control, and keeping high-profile government projects on track.

What You'll Actually Be Doing

You'll spend a massive chunk of your day wrangling stakeholders, nailing down project management plans, and getting formal sign-offs from government reps who don't like surprises. Your day-to-day includes policing scope creep, keeping the Change Management Plan sacred, and making sure your communication matrix actually keeps everyone in the loop. You'll be the single point of accountability when things get messy, translating business process reengineering goals into actual delivered tech outcomes without letting the timeline slip.

The Core Tech Stack

While this isn't a coding role, your technical toolkit needs to revolve around SaaS implementation methodologies and enterprise project governance frameworks. You absolutely must bring a rock-solid, verifiable background in Public Health—specifically dealing with Drug and Alcohol Programs—because domain expertise here is just as critical as your project management chops. If you don't understand how government health tech initiatives operate, you'll drown in the compliance and regulatory requirements.

Interview Expectations

Expect the interview panel to grill you on a time you had to tell a high-level government or enterprise stakeholder 'no' regarding a massive, last-minute scope change without ruining the relationship. They aren't looking for a corporate buzzword answer; they want to hear how you weaponize your Change Management Plan and back it up with documentation. You'll also likely be asked to walk through a past SaaS implementation where public sector compliance slowed things down, and how you managed to deliver anyway.

Application Advice

Make sure your PMP certification details and the exact date you earned it are plastered at the very top of your resume, as HR will hard-filter this out if it's missing (and yes, they'll want a copy). Do not try to apply if you aren't local to Pennsylvania; the restriction is strict with zero relocation on the table. Weave keywords like 'business process reengineering', 'SaaS solutions', 'deliverables matrix', and 'Drug and Alcohol Programs' naturally into your experience bullet points to easily clear the ATS parser.
