QA Analyst - Retail & E-Commerce

AaraTech Inc

Job Description & Details

This is a solid entry-to-mid level QA role focused heavily on ensuring that e-commerce checkout flows, payment processing, and pricing engines don't break in production. If you enjoy digging into cart validation and retail logic within an Agile environment, this gig will keep you busy without the burnout of massive enterprise legacy systems.

What You'll Actually Be Doing

You'll spend your days executing manual test cases, running regression suites, and tracking down pesky UI and data glitches using JIRA. Your main focus will be validating end-to-end e-commerce transactions—making sure that when a user adds an item to their cart, applies a discount, and checks out, the backend data matches the user-facing receipt. You will work side-by-side with developers to reproduce edge-case bugs and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT).

The Core Tech Stack

You need a solid foundation in manual testing methodologies, including functional, regression, and cross-browser testing. JIRA is your primary tool for bug tracking, so you should be comfortable writing clear reproduction steps and managing defect lifecycles. On top of that, a basic working knowledge of SQL is non-negotiable here because you'll need to query databases directly to validate data accuracy and order processing logic.

Interview Expectations

Expect the hiring manager to ask you to walk through how you would test an e-commerce shopping cart and checkout process from scratch. They want to hear you talk about boundary value analysis, negative testing scenarios like expired session tokens during payment, and how you handle priority vs. severity when logging defects. Another common line of questioning will test your SQL skills with a basic join or data retrieval problem to see if you can actually verify database records independently.

Application Advice

Skip the generic resume summary and put your e-commerce testing experience front and center. Explicitly mention keywords from the job description like 'cart & pricing validation', 'checkout & payment flow testing', and 'JIRA' so you easily clear the ATS. Make sure to highlight any specific retail applications or payment gateways you've tested in the past, as hiring managers want to see immediate domain familiarity.
