Job Description & Details
This is a heavy-hitting data product management and governance role embedded directly within the financial sector. You will be tasked with untangling complex banking workflows—from core deposits and card transactions to loan processing and fraud management—and turning them into scalable, secure data products.
What You'll Actually Be Doing
Your day-to-day will involve playing the ultimate translator between business stakeholders and technical execution teams. You'll spend plenty of time mapping out data requirements, managing backlogs, and driving a clear product roadmap while ensuring that everything you ship complies strictly with financial privacy and data risk standards. Expect to partner heavily with data engineers, data scientists, and governance teams to get features across the finish line without breaking downstream data quality or lineage.
The Core Tech Stack
You need to know your way around enterprise data architecture, cloud platforms like AWS or Azure, and modern data platforms such as Snowflake and Databricks. Experience with Informatica data management tools is non-negotiable here, alongside classic data crunching staples like SQL, Spark, and Hadoop, plus BI tools like Power BI or Tableau. The team relies on these technologies to keep their data products reliable, scalable, and compliant with banking regulations.
Interview Expectations
When you sit down with the hiring manager, expect a deep dive into how you have previously balanced strict regulatory compliance with rapid data product delivery in a banking environment. They will likely ask you to explain a time you had to define data risk standards from scratch or rollout a complex data product capability across multiple business units; they aren't just looking for your technical background, but your ability to handle stakeholder friction and bridge the gap between risk and innovation.
Application Advice
To get past the ATS for this role, ensure your resume explicitly highlights your experience with banking workflows, data governance frameworks, and hands-on familiarity with Informatica and Snowflake. Don't just list your technical skills—weave them into a narrative about how you translated complex business needs into secure, scalable data products while managing risk and tracking meaningful KPIs.
