AI Coach

Sapient

Job Description & Details

This is not your average agile coaching gig where you just facilitate meetings and talk about velocity. Sapient needs a hands-on technical practitioner to validate whether internal teams are actually using AI-driven development or just faking it to hit leadership metrics. If you understand how engineering teams build software with modern AI workflows and want to help govern that shift at enterprise scale, this 6-10 month contract is worth a serious look.

What You'll Actually Be Doing

Your day-to-day will involve auditing teams that claim they are operating at high-level AI accelerator tiers. You'll dig into their actual delivery data, review their tool usage, inspect their telemetry, and have direct conversations with engineers to see if they are genuinely leveraging AI coding agents, custom plugins, and modern workflows. You aren't there to hold hands and drive adoption from scratch; you are acting as an internal auditor and maturity assessor to certify teams against their new AIDLC framework so leadership has accurate data on their 60% adoption goal.

The Core Tech Stack

You need a strong technical or architecture background paired with deep, daily familiarity with AI-driven SDLC practices. The absolute must-knows include hands-on experience with AI coding tools, LLM-based agents, workflow automation, and plugin ecosystems. Because you will be looking at actual delivery evidence and telemetry, you need to be technically literate enough to spot the difference between genuine AI-assisted architecture and teams just throwing a prompt at a chat window once a week.

Interview Expectations

Expect the hiring managers to test your ability to separate real AI-driven development from surface-level hype. They will likely ask you to walk through a specific scenario where a team claims high velocity using AI tools, but their delivery outcomes and code telemetry suggest otherwise—how do you investigate and validate their claims without acting like a punitive auditor? They want someone who can balance technical rigor with strong organizational tact, so be prepared to defend your technical assessment methodology.

Application Advice

Your resume needs to heavily feature technical keywords like AIDLC, AI-driven SDLC, telemetry analysis, developer tooling, and governance frameworks. Leave out the generic agile coach buzzwords about Scrum ceremonies and focus entirely on your technical architecture background and how you've integrated AI tools into modern software delivery pipelines.
