Job Description & Details
This is a heavy-hitting 12-month contract for someone who genuinely knows their way around the Oracle Retail suite and isn't afraid to dive deep into MFCS, RMS, and ReIM. You will be bridging the gap between high-level business requirements and gritty technical delivery in a hybrid setup based out of Irving, TX. If you've only touched these systems superficially, this gig will move too fast, but if you've shipped end-to-end retail implementations before, you'll feel right at home.
What You'll Actually Be Doing
Expect to spend your days knee-deep in translating tangled business logic into clean functional and technical designs, while also heavily leveraging modern AI-assisted development tools to speed up delivery. You will coordinate closely with both functional stakeholders and core dev teams to ensure system configurations actually hold up under real-world retail loads. It involves a mix of legacy Oracle architecture and modern integrations, meaning you'll constantly pivot between fixing PL/SQL performance bottlenecks and orchestrating real-time data flows.
The Core Tech Stack
You need absolute fluency in Oracle Retail Merchandising applications like MFCS, RMS, RPM, ReSA, and ReIM, paired with rock-solid PL/SQL and Unix shell scripting. On top of the traditional Oracle stack, modern middleware is a huge piece of this puzzle, requiring strong hands-on experience with REST APIs, Kafka, Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC), and JSON/XML data payloads. The team also expects you to be comfortable using AI-assisted coding tools to accelerate your daily development workflows.
Interview Expectations
Be ready for a grilling on your end-to-end implementation battle scars, particularly how you handled complex data migration and custom extensions without breaking core MFCS packages. The interviewer is going to probe deep into your PL/SQL optimization techniques and how you design resilient event-driven integrations using Kafka and OIC. They want to see if you can troubleshoot a silent integration failure under pressure while keeping business stakeholders calm.
Application Advice
Your resume needs to explicitly feature the acronyms MFCS, RMS, ReIM, OIC, and Kafka right near the top to easily clear the ATS filters. Don't just list them as bullet points; tie them to specific end-to-end implementations where you owned the architecture from design to deployment. Highlight your hands-on experience with AI coding assistants and modern integration patterns to show you're not just an old-school Oracle DBA, but a modern techno-functional consultant.
