Senior QA Automation Engineer

Evolutyz Corp

Job Description & Details

This is a heavy-hitting QA engineering role focused on high-traffic eCommerce and complex payment systems. You will not just be executing scripts; you'll be architecting and maintaining end-to-end automation pipelines that ensure mission-critical systems don't break under pressure.

What You'll Actually Be Doing

Your day-to-day will revolve around building, scaling, and maintaining robust test automation frameworks from scratch while integrating them tightly into CI/CD pipelines. You'll spend a lot of time validating complex REST APIs, running database queries to ensure data integrity, and poking holes in message brokers like Kafka or RabbitMQ. Expect to collaborate closely with product and development teams in an Agile setup to triage defects in JIRA and execute thorough root cause analysis during release cycles.

The Core Tech Stack

You absolutely need deep proficiency in Java and modern automation tools like Selenium WebDriver, Playwright, and Cucumber for BDD. Since this gig involves heavy backend and messaging validation, your toolkit must also include REST Assured for APIs, Jenkins for CI/CD orchestration, and solid SQL skills for database checks. Familiarity with messaging queues like Kafka and AMQ is a massive plus that will separate you from other applicants.

Interview Expectations

Be ready for deep-dive technical grilling on how you handle flaky tests in large-scale Selenium or Playwright suites. The interviewer is secretly listening for your strategies around locator strategies, test isolation, and keeping execution times low. You'll also likely get thrown a scenario involving an asynchronous microservices architecture, where they will want to know how you trace a payload across Kafka brokers and validate the database state afterward.

Application Advice

Your resume needs to scream automation architect rather than manual tester. Make sure to prominently feature keywords like Playwright, REST Assured, Jenkins CI/CD, and Kafka right at the top. Instead of just listing tools, use action verbs to describe how you reduced regression cycles or built frameworks from the ground up to get past both the ATS and the hiring manager's initial skim.
