Job Description & Details

This is a heavy-duty SailPoint IdentityIQ engineering role focused on regulatory compliance, segregation of duties (SOD), and complex application onboarding within a highly regulated environment. You won't just be maintaining lights-on IAM; you'll be actively untangling enterprise provisioning flows, fixing legacy rules, and ensuring strict audit readiness without breaking platform stability.

What You'll Actually Be Doing

Expect to spend a good chunk of your day deep in Java and BeanShell, writing custom workflows, troubleshooting provisioning blocks, and integrating disparate systems into IIQ 8.x. You'll be dealing with real-world enterprise pain points like DBaaS onboarding, NCD implementation, and complex SOD matrix configurations. Much of the role revolves around identifying performance bottlenecks, remediating defects in existing build processes, and making sure audit trails are pristine for regulatory reviews.

The Core Tech Stack

You absolutely need deep, hands-on experience with SailPoint IdentityIQ 8.x, specifically mastering workflows, rules, plugins, and IIQ APIs. Since you'll be writing custom logic daily, solid Java, BeanShell, XML, and SQL skills are non-negotiable. Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and SailPoint Services Standard Build frameworks will keep you from pulling your hair out during deployments.

Interview Expectations

Expect the hiring team to test your real-world debugging chops by asking how you would troubleshoot a stuck workflow that's causing provisioning failures in a production environment, specifically when dealing with custom BeanShell scripts and database locks. They want to see how you trace logs, isolate exceptions, and prevent database deadlocks under load. They will likely also grill you on SOD implementation strategies, asking how you handle conflicting entitlements and nested roles without crushing system performance during access certifications.

Application Advice

Your resume needs to heavily feature concrete metrics and specific instances where you built complex IIQ workflows, custom rules, and integrated enterprise databases. Make sure to sprinkle in keywords like 'IdentityIQ 8.x', 'BeanShell', 'SOD implementation', 'DBaaS onboarding', and 'SailPoint APIs' right at the top so you clear the automated screening filters. Highlight any background you have in financial services or heavily audited industries, as familiarity with compliance frameworks is a massive tie-breaker here.
