Job Description & Details
This is a heavy-hitting technical lead role driving enterprise payment applications in the banking sector, requiring an on-site presence in Alpharetta 3-4 days a week. You will be building and scaling high-performance systems for debit cards, Zelle, and payment processing, which means performance and reliability aren't just nice-to-haves; they are absolute dealbreakers.
What You'll Actually Be Doing
You will spend your days architecting distributed systems, designing bulletproof microservices, and leading the technical delivery of critical payment infrastructure. Expect to deal with legacy integrations via WCF, modernizing them into .NET Core while ensuring low latency and high availability. You will also coordinate closely with stakeholders, mentor junior devs, and enforce clean design patterns across the entire engineering lifecycle.
The Core Tech Stack
You need deep, battle-tested expertise in .NET Core/.NET 6+, C#, and ASP.NET. The architecture heavily relies on Azure services like App Services, Functions, and Service Bus, alongside message brokers such as Kafka or RabbitMQ. Because this is the financial space, expect to interface daily with MS SQL Server, NoSQL databases, and container orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
Interview Expectations
You will likely be grilled on distributed transactions and maintaining data consistency across microservices in a high-volume payment environment. Prepare for a deep dive into how you handle eventual consistency using message brokers like Kafka or RabbitMQ, and be ready to white-board a resilient event-driven architecture. The hiring manager wants to see if you can balance pragmatic code delivery with enterprise-grade security and scalability.
Application Advice
Make sure your resume doesn't just list technologies, but explicitly highlights your architecture and leadership experience in financial services, banking, or payment processing. Ensure keywords like .NET Core, Azure, Microservices, and Kafka are front and center to clear the initial ATS filters, and be prepared to prove your hands-on coding and design pattern expertise during the mandatory face-to-face interview.
