Job Description & Details
This is a heavy-duty integration role focused on wiring up complex SAP S/4HANA transformations using SAP BTP and the Cloud Integration Suite. You'll need an active Secret clearance to even get through the door, making this a stable gig for someone with the right federal background and serious CPI chops.
What You'll Actually Be Doing
You will spend your days designing, building, and debugging iFlows to connect a brand new S/4HANA core to legacy on-prem and third-party systems. Expect to configure API endpoints, write custom Groovy scripts to handle tricky payload mappings, and troubleshoot why a payload dropped out during integration testing. You'll also act as the go-to technical advisor for functional teams who need to understand how data is actually moving between platforms.
The Core Tech Stack
You need absolute fluency in SAP Integration Suite (formerly CPI), including hands-on experience with ODATA, SOAP, REST, and JDBC adapters. Groovy scripting is non-negotiable since you'll constantly be writing custom mappings and exception handlers. Familiarity with SAP BTP runtimes like Kyma and Cloud Foundry, alongside a solid grasp of API-led connectivity and event-driven architectures, will separate you from the applicants who only know how to click buttons in the web UI.
Interview Expectations
The interview panel will likely probe deep into your error-handling and monitoring strategies within CPI, asking how you manage dead-letter queues or recover failed iFlows in high-volume production environments. They'll also test your Groovy scripting knowledge by presenting a real-world payload transformation challenge, looking to see if you can write clean, performant code on the spot without leaking memory or crashing threads.
Application Advice
Your resume needs to heavily feature concrete numbers, such as the scale of the implementations you've worked on and the exact number of iFlows you've built and maintained. Make sure to explicitly list 'SAP BTP', 'Integration Suite', 'CPI', 'Groovy', and 'S/4HANA' to clear the automated ATS filters, and explicitly state your U.S. citizenship and active Secret clearance right at the top so the recruiter doesn't have to hunt for it.
