Job Description & Details
This is a long-haul NetSuite functional consulting gig for someone who actually knows how to bridge the gap between messy business requirements and clean platform configurations. You'll be dropping into an environment that needs a steady hand to optimize their finance, sales, and operations modules without breaking existing workflows.
What You'll Actually Be Doing
Expect to spend your days acting as the translator between business stakeholders and the system. You will analyze how the business runs, figure out why their current NetSuite setup isn't pulling its weight, and then get into the weeds configuring and customizing forms, workflows, and dashboards. You won't just be building things in a vacuum; you'll be running user training, fixing data migration headaches, and ensuring that integrations with third-party tools don't drop packets when volume spikes.
The Core Tech Stack
Your bread and butter here is absolute mastery of NetSuite configuration, customization, and core business processes spanning finance and order-to-cash. While this is primarily a functional role, having working knowledge of SuiteScript and SuiteFlow is going to be your superpower when standard configurations hit a wall. You need to speak fluent ERP, understand integration methodologies, and know how to map out relational data across supply chain and financial ledgers.
Interview Expectations
When you sit down with the hiring manager, expect them to test your architectural thinking with a scenario where a complex custom workflow clashes with a native NetSuite update, asking how you would troubleshoot without halting month-end close. They are secretly testing whether you blindly follow out-of-the-box logic or if you deeply understand the relational impact of your configurations on the general ledger and downstream operations.
Application Advice
Skip the generic project management fluff on your resume and highlight specific NetSuite implementations where you took a broken module and turned it into an automated asset. Make sure keywords like NetSuite configuration, functional specifications, SuiteFlow, and business process reengineering are front and center so you can easily clear the automated resume screen.
