Workday / UKG Pro Integration Consultant

Not Disclosed

Job Description & Details

This is a hands-on, end-to-end integration gig where you will be bridging the gap between Workday and UKG Pro using API-based architectures. If you enjoy deep-diving into HCM and payroll data flows without having to deal with corporate micromanagement, this 6-month contract gives you the autonomy to own the pipeline from design to production go-live.

What You'll Actually Be Doing

You will spend your days architecting and writing the connective tissue between two major HCM ecosystems, handling everything from REST and SOAP endpoints to messy data mapping and transformation. Expect to parse through existing UKG documentation, configure Workday Web Services, and troubleshoot validation errors when employee or payroll records fail to sync correctly. You will drive the deployment lifecycle independently, moving from unit testing straight through to UAT support and final production release.

The Core Tech Stack

You need absolute fluency in Workday integration tools including EIB, RaaS, Studio, and integration security, alongside robust experience hooking into UKG Pro APIs. Because this role deals heavily with sensitive HCM employee and payroll data, a deep understanding of data payloads, schema transformations, and bulletproof error-handling protocols is non-negotiable for keeping data syncs reliable.

Interview Expectations

Expect the hiring manager to ask you to walk through a time when a complex API integration failed in UAT due to a data payload mismatch, and how you tracked down the root cause in the logs. They want to see if you can debug under pressure and whether you understand the transactional dependencies between Workday modules and UKG Pro payroll tables.

Application Advice

Make sure your resume screams integration architecture rather than just general administration. Highlight specific projects where you built Workday-to-vendor APIs using Studio or EIB, and explicitly mention keywords like RaaS, SOAP/REST APIs, UKG Pro, data mapping, and UAT support so you easily bypass the automated ATS filters.
