Job Description & Details
This is a core compliance-tech role sitting right at the intersection of banking operations and software delivery. If you enjoy untangling messy onboarding workflows and translating complex regulatory mandates into actionable user stories, this gig in Tampa will keep you busy and challenged.
What You'll Actually Be Doing
Expect to spend a good chunk of your week bridging the gap between risk teams and developers. You will be knee-deep in analyzing current Know Your Customer (KYC), Customer Due Diligence (CDD), and Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) processes, finding the bottlenecks, and writing up crystal-clear BRDs and functional specs. You'll work closely with compliance officers who know the rules and engineers who know the code, making sure everyone is on the same page during remediation projects, periodic reviews, and system integrations.
The Core Tech Stack
While you won't be writing production code, you need a solid grasp of the ecosystem driving modern banking compliance. Deep domain knowledge in KYC, AML, and client onboarding workflows is non-negotiable. Beyond that, you'll need to speak the language of data—meaning SQL proficiency, familiarity with system APIs, and knowing your way around JIRA and Confluence to track user stories and manage the SDLC in an Agile environment are going to be your daily bread and butter.
Interview Expectations
When you sit down with the hiring manager, expect them to test how you handle conflicting priorities between aggressive business stakeholders and cautious compliance teams. They will likely ask you to walk through a scenario where a regulatory requirement changed mid-sprint and how you adjusted your documentation without derailing the engineering team. To nail this, focus on how you trace requirements back to risk mitigation while keeping your user stories lean and unambiguous.
Application Advice
To get past the ATS for this role, your resume needs to heavily feature hard regulatory keywords like KYC, CDD, EDD, AML, BRD, and UAT right at the top. Don't just list your past job titles; explicitly highlight measurable process improvements you've driven in banking operations, such as reducing onboarding cycle times or successfully delivering a remediation project on time.
