Job Description & Details
This is a bread-and-butter Identity and Access Management role focused heavily on operational hygiene, ticket queues, and access governance. If you enjoy keeping things locked down while finding ways to script away repetitive admin tasks rather than clicking through GUIs all day, this gig keeps you close to the security operations metal.
What You'll Actually Be Doing
You'll spend a good chunk of your day clearing tickets, handling provisioning and deprovisioning requests, and running access reviews. Beyond the reactive helpdesk work, you are expected to dig into directory services like Active Directory and LDAP, support security audits, and look for manual bottlenecks that you can eliminate using PowerShell, Python, or even basic AI automation tools. There is also an on-call rotation element, so expect some off-hours firefighting depending on the infrastructure.
The Core Tech Stack
You need solid, foundational fluency in Active Directory, LDAP, Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), and Privileged Access Management (PAM) tooling. Scripting capability in PowerShell or Python is non-negotiable here because the team explicitly wants someone to automate their manual workflows and parse IAM logs for audits. Familiarity with OT environments and physical access badge systems adds a nice edge to your day-to-day context.
Interview Expectations
Expect the hiring manager to throw a scenario your way about handling a complex provisioning request or an emergency revocation for a compromised privileged account, testing both your technical execution and your adherence to compliance controls. They are also going to ask you for a concrete example of a repetitive task you automated in the past using PowerShell or Python, so be ready to walk them through the problem, your script's logic, and the hours saved.
Application Advice
Make sure your resume doesn't just list tools, but explicitly highlights your ticket throughput, compliance audit experience, and specific automation scripts you've written. Drop exact keywords like Active Directory, LDAP, PAM, PowerShell, and access reviews into your experience bullets so you clear their ATS without issue.
