Job Description & Details
This is a heavy-duty coordination role disguised as a junior position, requiring an impressive 5-8 years of hands-on experience keeping complex technical projects on schedule. You will act as the operational glue between project managers, cross-functional teams, and stakeholders who constantly pull deliverables in different directions. If you thrive in structured environments and enjoy wrangling timelines and documentation, this contract offers a great chance to make an immediate impact.
What You'll Actually Be Doing
Expect your day-to-day to revolve around maintaining meticulous project trackers, chasing down teams for status updates, and preparing executive-ready slide decks and reports. You will spend a good chunk of your time scheduling syncs, documenting meeting minutes, and flagging risks before they blow up into critical path blockers. Because this is 100% onsite in San Jose, you will need to rely heavily on face-to-face communication to herd cats and keep technical stakeholders aligned.
The Core Tech Stack
While there is no heavy coding here, absolute mastery of Excel and PowerPoint is non-negotiable since you will be building the trackers and status reports that leadership stares at. You also need fluency in standard project tracking tools and the entire MS Office suite to manage milestones, action items, and documentation efficiently. Knowing how to structure complex data in spreadsheets without breaking formulas is going to be your superpower in this role.
Interview Expectations
Be ready for the hiring manager to ask you to describe a time when a project was completely derailed by scope creep and how you stepped in to save the timeline. They aren't looking for a textbook answer; they want to see your tactical approach to difficult stakeholders and how you prioritize conflicting demands under pressure. Another classic question you'll face involves walking them through your method for tracking risks and action items so nothing ever falls through the cracks.
Application Advice
Your resume needs to heavily feature hard numbers, such as the scale of the projects you've managed, the size of the cross-functional teams you've supported, and the specific tools you used. Make sure to weave in exact keywords from the job description like project planning, milestone tracking, risk management, and cross-functional coordination to breeze past the automated ATS filters. Emphasize your organizational stamina and your ability to work independently in a fast-paced onsite environment.
