Job Description & Details
This is a hands-on, onsite technical leadership role where you will literally own the Wi-Fi test strategy and lab execution for a major client in Denver. If you hate being stuck behind a desk pushing paper and prefer actually getting your hands dirty with RF gear and test automation, this gig actually delivers on that front.
What You'll Actually Be Doing
You will spend your days architecting test coverage in a live lab environment, dealing head-on with tricky connectivity issues, band steering, roaming, and PHY rate optimization using Octoscope gear. Beyond the technical debugging, you'll act as the bridge between the local client stakeholders and an offshore engineering team in India, meaning you'll need to handle status updates, unblock offshore testers, and drive daily execution without losing your sanity.
The Core Tech Stack
You absolutely must know your way around RF lab ownership and advanced Wi-Fi test architecture. Specifically, deep hands-on experience with Octoscope test systems and familiarity with end-to-end customer use cases are non-negotiable. If you don't intimately understand roaming behavior, band steering mechanics, and device interoperability challenges, you will struggle here.
Interview Expectations
Expect them to grill you on how you handle tricky, intermittent roaming failures in a dense RF environment and how you would design a test plan from scratch using Octoscope for a new piece of hardware. The hiring manager is secretly looking to see if you actually built test beds yourself or if you just managed people who did, so be ready to talk shop about specific PHY layer metrics and debugging workflows.
Application Advice
Make sure your resume screams 'Octoscope' and 'RF lab management' right at the top, because the automated filters are aggressively hunting for those exact keywords. Do not just list management experience; explicitly highlight how you led onsite and offshore teams through complex test cycles and dealt directly with executive stakeholders.
