Connected Worker Project Specialist

Job Description & Details

This is a hands-on digital transformation gig where you'll bridge the gap between old-school shop-floor processes and modern manufacturing tech. If you enjoy sitting down with plant SMEs, translating tribal knowledge into actual software configurations, and building dashboards that people will actually use, this 6-month contract in Kalamazoo is right in your wheelhouse.

What You'll Actually Be Doing

You'll spend your days configuring OEE and Connected Worker platforms, translating messy shop-floor workflows into clean digital assets, forms, and instructions. Half your time will be spent talking with plant engineers, quality leads, and operators to capture how things actually work, and the other half turning that insight into training videos, SOPs, AR/VR materials, and Power BI dashboards. You're essentially the translator between the factory floor and the software stack, making sure pilots actually run smoothly and users adopt the tools without pulling their hair out.

The Core Tech Stack

You need to know your way around manufacturing execution and digital platforms, specifically having a solid grip on OEE tools, Power BI for dashboarding, and standard Microsoft Office suites (Teams and SharePoint are big pluses here). Because this is a regulated environment, a strong working knowledge of GMP, data integrity, and validation practices is non-negotiable. If you also happen to know Lean Six Sigma principles, you'll speak the exact language the plant managers want to hear.

Interview Expectations

Expect the hiring team to hit you with a scenario where a shop-floor SME refuses to adopt a new digital workflow because "the old paper way works fine." They want to see how you handle pushback, bridge the gap between tech and operations, and actually extract the real requirements rather than just taking what people say at face value. They'll also likely probe your technical understanding of GMP and data integrity, testing whether you know how to build a digital form that won't trigger compliance flags during an audit.

Application Advice

Make sure your resume doesn't read like a generic IT support ticket; highlight your actual factory-floor experience where you worked alongside manufacturing, quality, and engineering teams. Sprinkle in exact keywords from the prompt like "OEE," "shop-floor workflows," "GMP," "Power BI dashboards," and "requirements elicitation" so you easily clear the ATS, and use your summary to emphasize any past wins where you successfully drove user adoption for a manufacturing software rollout.
