Content/Contentful Developer

Not Disclosed

Job Description & Details

This is a heavy-duty, architecture-focused Contentful role where you won't just be plugging in components, but actually designing how an enterprise handles content modeling and localization. If you enjoy building scalable, API-first web applications and dealing with the nuances of headless CMS implementations, this long-term gig is right in your wheelhouse.

What You'll Actually Be Doing

Expect to spend your days knee-deep in Contentful creating clean content models, mapping out types, assets, and localization strategies that content teams can actually use without breaking production. You'll be bridging the gap between headless architecture and frontend apps, setting up robust REST and GraphQL integrations, and troubleshooting weird performance bottlenecks in how content gets delivered globally.

The Core Tech Stack

You need absolute fluency in Contentful, specifically mastering the Content Delivery API, Content Management API, and complex content modeling. Knowing your way around GraphQL and REST integrations is non-negotiable here, plus you should be comfortable pairing that headless setup with modern cloud services like AWS, Azure, or GCP and standard Git-based CI/CD pipelines.

Interview Expectations

Expect them to throw a real-world content modeling scenario at you, asking you to architect a multilingual enterprise site structure from scratch with deeply nested references. The hiring manager is secretly checking to see if you can anticipate how your content model choices will impact API payload sizes and downstream frontend rendering performance, so make sure you focus on trade-offs rather than just getting it to work.

Application Advice

Your resume needs to scream headless architecture. Drop terms like Contentful Certified, Content Modeling, CDA/CMA, GraphQL, and localization strategies right near the top so the ATS picks them up immediately. Frame your past contract work around measurable outcomes, like how you optimized content delivery or migrated massive repositories without downtime.
