Oracle Fusion Grants, Awards, Projects and PPM Functional Consultant

Not Disclosed

Job Description & Details

This is a hands-on Oracle Fusion functional contract role embedded right in the thick of complex grant-funded operations. You'll be bridging the gap between technical teams and finance departments to keep grants, awards, and project accounting running smoothly without breaking compliance.

What You'll Actually Be Doing

Expect to spend your days knee-deep in award setups, project billing cycles, and cross-module reconciliations. You won't just be configuring systems in a vacuum; you'll be actively troubleshooting why costs aren't distributing correctly, fixing integration snags between procurement and project accounting, and handling everything from award amendments to month-end close chaos. If you hate repetitive ticket-pushing and prefer deep-dive problem-solving in complex enterprise systems, this gig will keep you busy.

The Core Tech Stack

You need absolute mastery over Oracle Fusion Cloud, specifically Grants Management, Awards, and Project Portfolio Management (PPM) including Project Costing, Billing, and Accounting. Beyond native configurations, you have to be comfortable wading through OIC, REST/SOAP APIs, FBDI, and writing or fixing OTBI and BI Publisher reports. Because this environment touches heavy grant funding—likely higher-ed, research, or government—understanding subledger accounting and cross-module integrations with Payables and General Ledger is non-negotiable.

Interview Expectations

The panel will likely test your real-world battle scars by asking how you troubleshoot a failed cost distribution or revenue generation exception involving multiple subledgers like Payables and Grants. They want to see if you can walk them through an exact diagnostic process, from checking transaction sources to analyzing SLA accounting lines, rather than just guessing. They're also going to evaluate how well you can translate messy business requirements from non-technical grant administrators into clean Oracle configurations without over-customizing.

Application Advice

Your resume needs to scream Oracle Fusion expertise with an emphasis on the full grant and award lifecycle, not just generic financials. Make sure to explicitly include keywords like Grants Management, Project Billing, Award Budgets, OIC, BI Publisher, and Subledger Accounting so you easily clear the ATS filters. Highlight specific projects where you owned month-end closes, handled complex funding controls, or rescued a failing integration, as those practical wins are exactly what this hiring manager is hunting for.
