SAP SD Functional Analyst

Job Description & Details

This is a hands-on SAP SD role where you will live and breathe Order-to-Cash and EDI interface mapping. If you enjoy untangling messy integration pipelines and translating business requirements into actual technical specs without getting bogged down by endless meetings, this gig is a solid fit.

What You'll Actually Be Doing

You will act as the functional SME for SAP SD, spending your days shoulder-to-shoulder with middleware and technical integration teams. Your actual workload involves defining complex mapping logic, troubleshooting failed electronic data exchanges, and running point on end-to-end testing for critical O2C workflows.

The Core Tech Stack

You need absolute fluency in SAP Sales and Distribution (SAP-SD) and extensive, hands-on experience with Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) and interface mapping. The team relies on you to know the O2C cycle inside and out while bridging the gap between functional business needs and technical middleware execution, with S/4HANA exposure being a massive plus.

Interview Expectations

Expect the hiring manager to throw a messy production scenario at you, such as a failing IDoc due to a segment mismatch, and ask you to trace the error from the SAP side through the middleware layer. They are secretly testing whether you can troubleshoot independently without leaning on a massive support team. You will also likely be grilled on how you handle vague requirements from business stakeholders and turn them into concrete technical specifications.

Application Advice

Do not just list SAP SD on your resume; spell out the specific EDI transaction sets (like 810, 850, 856) and middleware tools you have integrated with. Make sure terms like Order-to-Cash, IDoc mapping, and cross-functional collaboration are front and center so you easily clear the initial ATS keyword filters.
