This is a hands-on Senior Business Analyst role sitting right at the intersection of trading desks and engineering teams in Jersey City. You will be knee-deep in Repo and Securities Lending workflows, bridging the gap between high-pressure traders and the developers building the platforms.
What You'll Actually Be Doing
Expect your days to be split between requirements gathering, data analysis, and translation. You will sit with Front Office and Back Office users to figure out why their workflows are breaking down in settlements or collateral management, then translate those messy human requests into crystal-clear Jira epics and technical specs. You'll also leverage AI-powered coding tools to whip up quick Python scripts and SQL queries to analyze data and debug trade flows yourself instead of waiting on engineering.
The Core Tech Stack
You need absolute fluency in the Repo and Securities Lending domain—specifically understanding front office trading platforms, settlements, and collateral management lifecycle. Beyond domain knowledge, technical literacy is non-negotiable here. You must be comfortable writing SQL queries and Python scripts for data analysis, and actively using AI assistants like GitHub Copilot or Aiden to speed up your day-to-day technical investigations.
Interview Expectations
Expect the interviewers to test both your domain depth and your communication range. They will likely ask you to explain a complex regulatory or settlement failure in Repo to a non-technical stakeholder, and then immediately turn around and drill you on how you would query a database to find the root cause of a dropped trade leg using Python or SQL.
