Job Description & Details
This is a heavy-hitting infrastructure migration role where you will spearhead a massive lift from Google Cloud Platform to Azure. If you enjoy untangling complex cloud estates and building bulletproof deployment pipelines, this gig will keep you on your toes.
What You'll Actually Be Doing
Your primary mission is executing a seamless migration from GCP to Azure without disrupting live workloads. You'll spend your days architecting VNet hub-spoke topologies, setting up secure private endpoints, and designing robust AKS clusters with proper workload identity and RBAC. A significant portion of your time will involve writing complex Terraform code, ensuring state isolation, and making sure that security compliance baked into Azure Policy doesn't slow down feature delivery.
The Core Tech Stack
You need deep, battle-tested experience with Terraform at a module-authoring level—none of this basic script-copying stuff; we're talking remote state design and zero-downtime refactoring using moved blocks. On the Azure side, you must know AKS, Application Gateway with WAF v2, Key Vault, and PostgreSQL Flexible Server inside and out. Most importantly, you need verifiable scars from migrating real workloads off GCP and onto Azure, coupled with an uncompromising approach to least-privilege RBAC design.
Interview Expectations
Expect the hiring team to grill you on state refactoring strategies in Terraform, specifically asking how you handle moving resources around in a production environment without triggering accidental destructions. They will also likely present a networking scenario involving hub-spoke VNets and Azure Application Gateway with WAF v2, asking you to diagnose a tricky routing or certificate-binding issue. They aren't looking for textbook definitions; they want to hear war stories of how you've debugged these exact production bottlenecks under pressure.
Application Advice
Skip the generic cloud certifications on your resume and focus heavily on your migration metrics and infrastructure-as-code depth. Explicitly highlight your hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform to Azure migrations in your summary, and use keywords like 'composable Terraform modules', 'AKS node pools', 'Private Endpoints', and 'hub-spoke' to clear the automated ATS filters. Make sure your resume clearly communicates that you understand enterprise-grade security and least-privilege principles.
