Job Description & Details
This is a heavy-hitting 10+ year full-stack role that lives right at the intersection of enterprise Java/Python backends and modern React frontends. You need deep domain experience in financial services or capital markets to even get past the initial screen, so expect to hit the ground running on complex trading or asset management systems.
What You'll Actually Be Doing
You'll be juggling everything from architecting robust microservices using Spring Boot and FastAPI to building responsive user interfaces with React and Node.js. Beyond just writing code, you will lead requirement gathering sessions, write technical specs, and drive code reviews. The environment is fast-paced, hybrid across major US hubs, and expects you to navigate AWS infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines without much hand-holding.
The Core Tech Stack
Your bread and butter here will be enterprise Java (Spring, Hibernate) paired with data-heavy Python (Pandas, NumPy, FastAPI) for backend processing, alongside React on the frontend. On the infrastructure side, heavy AWS exposure is non-negotiable—specifically S3, Lambda, EKS, and RDS—backed by Terraform for provisioning and Datadog or Splunk for observability. PostgreSQL and SQL Server handle the persistence layer, while Okta manages identity.
Interview Expectations
Expect the interview panel to test your concurrency and data manipulation skills by asking how you would optimize a slow-running Pandas dataframe or resolve a memory leak in a high-throughput Spring Boot microservice. The hiring managers are secretly testing whether you can balance clean architectural patterns with the gritty performance tuning required in financial tech environments.
Application Advice
Skip the generic tech buzzwords and front-load your resume with explicit metrics from your past financial services, asset management, or capital markets projects. Ensure keywords like Spring Boot, FastAPI, React, and Terraform are prominent to survive the automated filters, but make sure your bullet points clearly highlight your leadership in code reviews and technical specification writing.
