Job Description & Details
This is a heavy-hitting, long-term contracting gig focused on steering an end-to-end Oracle Retail implementation. If you have spent the last decade deep in the retail merchandising trenches and know how to bend MFCS to your will, this role offers a solid year of complex engineering work.
What You'll Actually Be Doing
Expect to spend your days knee-deep in architectural discussions, bridging the gap between clunky business requirements and scalable technical solutions. You'll be designing integrations, writing complex PL/SQL, and wrangling data streams using Kafka and REST APIs, all while keeping an eye on performance optimization across RMS, RPM, ReSA, and ReIM. It is a hands-on technical role where you will be expected to drive deployments and troubleshoot production fires without a lot of hand-holding.
The Core Tech Stack
Your bread and butter here needs to be Oracle Retail MFCS, RMS, RPM, ReSA, and ReIM, backed by rock-solid PL/SQL and Unix Shell Scripting. Beyond the traditional Oracle stack, they are explicitly looking for modern integration skills like Kafka, Oracle Integration Cloud, and REST APIs, plus a willingness to leverage AI-assisted coding tools to speed up delivery. If your toolkit only includes legacy Oracle scripts without modern API or event-driven experience, you are going to struggle here.
Interview Expectations
The hiring manager is going to want proof that you have survived a full-cycle MFCS implementation from scratch, so be ready to walk them through a specific disaster you averted during a Go-Live. They will likely drill down into your PL/SQL performance tuning strategies and how you handle complex asynchronous integrations using Kafka or OIC. They want to see architectural maturity and real-world scars, not just textbook definitions.
Application Advice
Skip the generic resume layout and put your Oracle Retail implementations front and center. Make sure acronyms like MFCS, RMS, ReIM, PL/SQL, OIC, and Kafka are explicitly visible because their ATS will be hunting for those exact keywords. Frame your experience around end-to-end ownership rather than just maintenance support to catch the recruiter's eye.
